Built in 1978, Al Kandara towers project is a group of 16 floors semi attached and standalone towers consisting of a total of 270 apartments, the towers shared three massive underground water tanks that can be accessed from the basement.
In addition, each tower has its own 105 Cubic meter tank on the roof deck; the structures of which suffered leakages, corrosion, calcification, and concrete failures.
The management of the towers required fixing all of the issues without cutting the water supply at all.
Our job included the following:
- Restoration and repairing all 5 water tanks on the roof deck; this included reinforcing and re-barring the structure, and water proofing the interior of the water tanks.
- Waterproofing the total area of the roof deck After the required civil works.
- Installation of a new piping system to connect all 5 tanks to cater for emergencies.
- Automation of all 5 roof deck water tanks with the 3 main underground water tanks through control panels in the machine room.
